Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Football Federation (FAF) has announced in a press release that coach Patrice Beaumelle has left his position as head coach of the Angolan national team following the termination of his contract.
The statement says that the contract with the coach was terminated by mutual agreement and amicably. He is leaving his position as head coach of the national team to take up a new professional commitment in the coming days.
Beaumelle led Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN2025) in Morocco. The team did not advance beyond the first round, finishing third in the group with only two points.
He succeeded Portuguese coach Pedro Gonçalves, who coached the Angolan national team for five years.
The 47-year-old French coach was appointed on September 29 of 2025 with a two-year contract and managed the following eight games:
World Cup qualifiers: Eswatini – Angola (2–2); Cameroon – Angola (0–0).
Friendly: Angola – Argentina (0–2); Angola – Zambia (3–2); Angola – Mozambique (4–1)
AFCON: South Africa – Angola (2–1); Angola – Zimbabwe (1–1); Angola – Egypt (0–0)
