Africa-Press – Angola. Hundreds of national and foreign tourists visited the province of Malanje, during the extended holiday, to enjoy the tourist charms considered as a natural spectacle, where direct contact with nature offers a unique moment, restorative and full of fun.
During a reporting work, Press found out that the main hotel units of the city, namely Palanca, Portugalia and Palace Regina and the inns, registered since Friday (13) a considerable flow of tourists above the normal days, with occupancy rates that have been around 80 to 100%.
The head of reception of the Palanca Hotel, Mateus Ngongolo, said that the 144 rooms of the unit are fully booked, having been occupied during the last four days, mostly by visitors, who began to leave the rooms only on Tuesday.
The official stated that, among the tourists, the ones that stood out were citizens from the Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Libya, besides the nationals to lead the list, whose destinations were the Shrine of the Giant Sable Antelope and Rapids of the Kwanza in the municipality of Cangandala, Falls of Calandula and Black Stones from Pungo to Ndongo.
He stressed that there are already rooms available at this time, taking into account the return of the guests to their respective areas of origin.
Regarding prices, a single room costs 80,000 kwanzas, a double room 90,000 kwanzas, a family suite 95,000 kwanzas, an executive room 105,000 kwanzas, and a presidential suite 3,000 kwanzas, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and access to the pool and gym.
In the Portugália Hotel, a unit that has 31 rooms, according to a source of the establishment, in the last four days reached more than 90% of the occupancy rate, whose visitors were mostly national, with daily prices hovering around 63 and 75 thousand kwanzas for single and double rooms.
While at the Regina Hotel, also known as “Espelhado”, it was registered from Friday to Monday, the entrance of more than 300 guests.
Meanwhile some tourists who visited the Falls of Calandula, the Kwanza Rapids and the Shrine of the Giant Black Palanca considered these places as areas that directly impact health and well-being, providing memorable moments that are registered for life.
The Angolan tourist Mara Moreno, from the province of Huíla, lodged at the Portugália Hotel, said he chose Malanje to spend the extended time in the company of the family, to enjoy the tourist charms, having passed through the municipalities of Calandula and Cangandala. During that time she had the privilege to observe, for the first time, the Giant Black Palanca in its habitat in the Cangandala municipality.
Meanwhile, she called on the authorities of the province to improve access to tourist spots, as well as reactivate services and adopt more attractive ones, which can contribute to the dissemination of sites and raising revenue for state coffers.
The extended weekend in the city of Malanje began last Friday (13), due to the celebrations of the city’s 94th anniversary, having extended from Saturday until Tuesday, due to the carnival.
