Africa-Press – Angola. The Constitutional Court of Angola is holding a series of jurisdictional, educational, and social activities in Huíla province, starting this Monday, to promote constitutional literacy and culture, this Sunday in Lubango.

The activities will take place within the framework of the commemorations of the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, celebrated on February 5th, according to a press release from that sovereign body.

Among the events is an extraordinary plenary session, during which the 11 judges of the Court and a representative of the Public Prosecutor’s Office will consider five cases: one of subsequent abstract review and four extraordinary appeals of unconstitutionality.On Tuesday, the panel of judges will travel to the municipality of Gambos, 156 kilometers south of the city of Lubango, where the “Ondjango” of the Constitution will take place. This event is a space for interaction between the judges and the public, dedicated to addressing the fundamental rights, duties, and guarantees enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

The following day, the judges will return to work in Lubango, where they will visit the Integrated Child and Adolescent Care Center, where they will deliver copies of the Constitution of the Republic in Portuguese and in the national languages ​​Nyaneka, Oshiwambo, and Umbundu, an initiative aimed at strengthening constitutional literacy.

Also on Wednesday, the Constitutional Court will deliver copies of the Constitution of the Republic in Braille to the Angolan Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted, as part of the promotion of citizenship and inclusion of visually impaired people.

Before concluding their work agenda in Huíla province, the members of the Court will meet with students in Lubango for another edition of the “Ondjango” of the Constitution, with secondary and university students, focusing on fundamental rights, freedoms, and guarantees.
