With the aim of strengthening direct interaction between governance and young people, the municipal administration of Cuvango, in Huíla province, launched the “New Free Debate” initiative this Tuesday, whose inaugural discussion revolved around the theme “Youth and Opportunities”.
At the event, the municipal administrator, Luís Paulo Ndala, said that this initiative aims to listen to the main concerns of this segment of society and define joint proposals for solutions.
He highlighted the importance of permanent dialogue with young people, emphasizing that the progress of the municipality necessarily depends on the creation of concrete opportunities for young people in the areas of training, employment, entrepreneurship and social inclusion.The need for widespread access to technical and vocational training and the empowerment of the target group, based on the promotion of entrepreneurship, were central to the set of initiatives presented by the participants to the municipal manager.
The event was promoted by the Municipal Youth Council (CMJ) of Cuvango and falls within the scope of open, participatory and inclusive management.
With a population of 38,416 inhabitants, after the elevation of its former commune of Galangue to a municipality, which has 56,565 people, Cuvango is located 356 kilometers east of Lubango.
