Africa-Press – Angola. Three people died and 14 others were injured in the northern province of Uíge as a result of 11 road accidents registered by the National Police over the weekend.
As per the data, there was an increase of 7 accidents and 2 deaths, compared to the previous weekend.
In Monday (13)’s statements, the spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police in Uíge, Chief Superintendent Freitas Zama, explained that the accidents occurred in the municipalities of Uíge, Negage, Samza-Pombo, Bembe and Vista Alegre.
Of the accidents, he highlighted run-overs, collisions between motorcycles, cars and motorcycles, as well as vehicles running off the road and overturning.
As causes, he pointed to speeding, poor technical condition of vehicles and disregard for the road code.
