Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Huambo Province, Pereira Alfredo, pointed out this Tuesday that youth is a dynamic, creative and essential force for the country’s development, as an engine of innovation and social transformation.

In a message received, on the occasion of Angolan Youth Day, which is celebrated today, the governor stated that the date is a moment of high relevance to recognize the decisive role of youth in the present and future of Angola.

He mentioned that young Angolans have been standing out for their ability to reinvent paths, generate solutions and actively contribute to national progress, in addition to assuming themselves as protagonists of a constantly transforming society.

He added that, with energy, vision and initiative, young people are asserting themselves as active agents in building a more sustainable country, where innovating, transforming and developing are unavoidable imperatives.

In Huambo Province, he said, this commitment is visible through the growing involvement of youth in sectors such as education, entrepreneurship, innovation, and civic participation, which constitutes strategic human capital for economic development and social well-being.

He stated that promoting opportunities, access to quality training, encouraging employment, and strengthening values such as responsibility, ethics, and citizenship are fundamental pillars for transforming youth potential into concrete results.

He urged young people to continue investing in their comprehensive education, to actively participate in social and economic life, and to take an active role in building a more just, inclusive, and progress-oriented society.

Pereira Alfredo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continue promoting policies and initiatives that stimulate the creativity, innovation, and productive capacity of youth, as the main agent of national transformation and development.

Under the motto “Angolan Youth: Innovate, Transform and Develop Angola,” the government official defended the need to reinforce the investment in the potential of new generations, creating conditions so that their talent translates into effective progress and concrete benefits for the whole society.

He concluded that the celebration of Angolan Youth Day should serve as inspiration to renew confidence in new generations and consolidate a collective commitment to building an increasingly innovative, transformative and developed Angola.

The date is celebrated every year on April 14, in honor of José Mendes de Carvalho “Hoji-Ya-Henda,” a national hero and patron of Angolan youth, who died on this day in 1968. The event celebrates the strength and role of young people in the development of the country.
