Africa-Press – Angola. The Angola Diamond production could reach 16.2 million carats in 2026, with an estimated gross revenue of US$2.43 billion.

According to the state-owned Endiama company’s head of Mining Operations Department, Dayane Lima, speaking on Tuesday (14) in Luanda, while presenting the 2025 assessment sheet and the sector’s prospects for 2026, she said that in the first half of 2026, the forecast is to recover 7.4 million carats, which would represent an 8% growth compared to the same period in 2025.

She also mentioned that the fiscal target for next year is set at USD 680 million and cited historical performance and growth, pointing out that from 2020 to 2025, Angola registered a remarkable 91% growth in production, jumping from 7.9 million to 15.2 million carats recovered.

According to Dayane Lima, this increase was driven by the exploitation of primary deposits and the start of operations of new projects.

Regarding the 2025 assessment, it was highlighted that production reached 15.2 million carats recovered, 8% above the production recovered in 2024.

The Catoca and Luele projects contributed the most to kimberlite production, with 52% and 47% respectively, and both companies also exceeded the National Development Plan target by 34% and 3%, respectively.

Among the factors that most influenced this production, the modernization of processing plants stands out, allowing for 1.8 million carats recovered; however, there is a deficit of 34,400 carats due to a lack of equipment.

Regarding future goals, the focus is on new discoveries, expanding international partnerships, and reaching more than 17 million carats by 2027.
