Africa-Press – Angola. The Association of African Diplomats (AAD) in Zambia praised on Friday, in Lusaka, the active diplomacy carried out by Angola, with a focus on solidarity, strengthening relations between African countries and strategic advice.
According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Zambia, representatives from countries such as Algeria, Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Malawi and Nigeria praised Angola’s performance in carrying out the association’s secretariat functions.
The recognition took place during a meeting promoted by the Diplomatic Mission of Angola, guided by the advisor of the Political and Economic Sector, Carlos Kapusso, with the aim of preparing the Africa Day celebrations and analyzing the organization’s financial situation.
On the occasion, Angola appealed to member missions to regularize annual dues, with emphasis on debts accumulated since 2017, and defended greater dynamization of the association’s activities.
Created in 2017, the Association of African Diplomats brings together diplomats accredited in Zambia, with the purpose of enhancing skills, experience and knowledge for the development of communities in the host country.
The organization is led by Nigeria, with Angola forming the secretariat and Tanzania acting as treasurer. Among its objectives are strengthening cooperation, sharing experiences and promoting business opportunities between Member States.
In addition to the countries already mentioned, states such as Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa and Somalia are also part of the AAD in Zambia.
The note highlights that Angola’s role within the association reinforces its diplomatic presence in the region and its commitment to African integration and solidarity.
