Africa-Press – Angola. The Speaker of the National Assembly Adão de Almeida on Sunday said that the Pope’s homily had been a time of deep reflection for all Angolans in light of his message at the end of the open-air religious ceremony in Luanda.

Speaking after the Eucharistic celebration, which drew thousands of worshipers from across the country and abroad, the lawmaker emphasized that the Holy Father’s words are an invitation to collective reflection and commitment to the values of fraternity and social cohesion.

The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology, and the Media, Mario de Oliveira, on his turn stated that the Pope’s message centers on love, peace, prosperity, and the common good. He emphasized that these teachings are ones of great wisdom and are much needed in Angola’s current context.

He said that the words of the leader of the Catholic Church reach all citizens through their widespread physical presence and live media broadcasts, enabling society as a whole to embrace the message of reconciliation, friendship, and peace.

The minister also highlighted the Pope’s appeal to young people to find hope through work, dedication, and education to uphold civic values and contribute to the country’s development.
