Africa-Press – Angola. Representatives of Angola and the United Nations met on Monday in Luanda to discuss the state of bilateral cooperation, focusing on ongoing programs and projects in the country aligned with national priorities for sustainable development.
This occurred during a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the UN Resident Coordinator in Angola, Amanda Khozi Mukhashi, aimed at evaluating cooperation between the two parties.
During the meeting, both parties acknowledged the role of the United Nations in supporting the Angolan government’s efforts to implement the 2030 Agenda.
The meeting also addressed the training of personnel, highlighting academic and scientific exchange programs resulting from partnerships between African institutions and universities in the United States.
Both entities emphasized the importance of these initiatives for enhancing human capital, knowledge transfer, and strengthening scientific research.
On that occasion, the Angolan Foreign Minister shared his impressions of his recent visit to Washington, where he met with academics, students, and members of Afro-descendant communities, in a dialogue focused on strengthening historical, cultural, and educational ties.
The parties highlighted the strategic role of Afro-descendant communities as bridges between peoples and continents, with a relevant contribution to the promotion of academic, business, and technological partnerships.
Angola and the United Nations System reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperating closely, based on permanent dialogue and support for the country’s inclusive and sustainable development.
