Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan National Adapted Athletics Team returned to the country this Monday (27) with five medals won at the International Meeting, which ended last Saturday in Rabat, Morocco, according to a statement from the Angolan Paralympic Committee (CPA).

In the statement, the body indicates that the visually impaired athlete (T11 – total blindness), Juliana Moko, won three silver medals in the 100 meters, with a time of 13.12s, in the 200m (27.13s) and in the 400m (1:02.62s).

In all three events, the sprinter from the province of Benguela always had as her main opponent for the gold medal the Brazilian Geber dos Santos, with whom she has been competing in world championships and Paralympic Games.

Runner Regina Dundo won the silver medal in the 100m (T11), with a time of 13.62s, having been eliminated in the heats in the 200 and 400 meters.

Meanwhile, newcomer Eduardo Cândido won the bronze medal in the 400m, clocking 56.68s, in a race whose main objective for Angola was to improve personal bests, considering the achievement of qualifying times for the Los Angeles Paralympic Games (USA) in 2028.

The team also included athletes Pedro Cassinda (T11) and Paulo Sebastião (T47), who did not achieve prominent positions in their respective events.

For this event, the CPA had a technical team led by José Manuel, Domingos Sapalo (assistant coach) and Paula Luís (physiotherapist), in addition to the guide athletes Abraão Sapalo, Aristóteles Bilhete and Florindo Lilongue.
