Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and two citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were questioned on Saturday by the Border Guard Police in Zaire province, for attempting to violate the region’s land border.
Of those questioned, 30 are women who tried to penetrate the national territory through the land borders of Cuimba, Nóqui and Mpala, informed this Sunday, the spokesman of the Provincial Delegation of the Interior in Zaire, Sérgio Afonso.
According to the source, after complying with the legal procedures, 35 immigrants were sent to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in the region, while 67 others were deported, on the same day, to their country of origin, 32 of them men and 35 women.
Sérgio Afonso said that the Border Guard Police stationed at various border posts with the DRC had in recent days intensified control and inspection actions at the border perimeter with this neighboring country.
The province of Zaire, in the north of Angola, shares a 310 kilometer border with the DRC.
