Africa-Press – Angola. Three hundred and ninety-five diamonds of different carats were seized, Sunday, in the municipality of Lucapa, Lunda Norte province, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
The diamonds, were in the possession of two national citizens aged between 24 and 54 years, and were seized in the village of Calonda during a micro-operation.
Citizens were questioned at one of the police checkpoints when, aboard a vehicle, they were preparing to travel to Lunda Sul province, to sell diamonds.
The diamond stones, after being evaluated, will be handed over to the “Operação Transparência” Listing Commission and the citizens, already detained for the crime of possession and illegal trafficking of the mineral, will be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the formalization of the accusation.
