Africa-Press – Angola. Forty-five citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who were residing in Soyo municipality were, Wednesday, repatriated by the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in Zaire province, for illegal entry and stay in the national territory.
The spokesman for the Provincial Delegation of the Interior in Zaire, Sérgio Afonso, said in statements that the repatriation took place at the river post of Kimbumba, municipality of Soyo.
He explained that the aforementioned illegal immigrants were collected in various peripheral neighborhoods of the city of Soyo, as part of the control and inspection actions of foreign citizens in an irregular migratory situation.
He added that the collection and repatriation of illegal immigrants will continue to discourage this phenomenon.
Four municipalities in the province of Zaire share a border with the DRC, namely Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Nóqui and Cuimba, for a total of 310 kilometres.
