Africa-Press – Angola. The 45th Sovereign of the Kingdom of Ndongo, Luís António Ngola “Diba Ngola Njungo”, began his reign on Wednesday (8), after an official presentation, in the commune of Dala Samba (Marimba), to members of the government, traditional authorities , religious and popular.

The King succeeds Buba Nvula Dalamana “Cabombo”, who died last October due to illness.

Born on December 23, 1955, in the town of Kizela, municipality of Cahombo, Diba Ngola Njungo is a descendant of Mudile Andombo Amana, one of the five mothers of the Ngola lineage.

The King, enthroned on September 16th, has a secondary course in Teacher Training and has held, among other functions, municipal commissioner of Cahombo, deputy of the extinct Popular Assembly of Malanje (1986-1991), political head of the Detachment of ODP (Popular Defense Organization) in the Kizela sector (1976-1979) and political head of the third Company of the Reserve Battalion of the Popular Armed Forces for the Liberation of Angola (FAPLA).

In his intervention, the King pointed out as the strengths of his reign the union of the people of the region, the reinforcement of cooperation with the government, aiming at the construction of the memorial of the Kings and sovereigns of Ndongo, in order to value the region and transform making it an attraction for cultural tourism.

He also indicated the organization of the Corte do Reinado, through the creation of structures that facilitate its administrative work, as well as advocating with the government to improve access roads from the municipality of Malanje to those of Cahombo, Quela, Marimba and Cunda-Dya- Baze, to facilitate the movement of people and goods.

Furthermore, he highlighted that his reign will prioritize the valorization of the uses and customs of the Ndongo region, intensification of interaction with other kingdoms at country level, without neglecting foreign counterparts, in the defense of common interests.

The promotion of actions to combat hunger and poverty in the region, as factors in reducing regional asymmetries, and compliance with customary and constitutional principles also support the new King’s lines of action.

Diba Ngola Njungo praised the role of the President of the Republic in valuing the power of traditional authorities and unity between kingdoms.

In turn, the deputy governor of Malanje for the Political, Social and Economic sector, Franco Mufinda, expressed the government’s willingness to work increasingly with representatives of the Kingdom of Ndongo in the search for answers to the problems that still plague the region .

He desired a reign based on harmony and a climate of peace, with a view to implementing the lines of force.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Sovereign of Ndongo in the municipality of Cangandala, Muenheche Balito João Florentino, appealed to the new King to work hard on organizing the kingdom and valuing traditional power, so that Ndongo truly assumes itself as the “mother kingdom”. .

Once the new King has been presented, the members of the Court secretariat will be chosen, which must always take into account the maternal lineage.

The kingdom of Ndongo and Matamba was founded at the beginning of the 16th century by Ngola Kiluanje and has since been taken over by Nginga Mbande, Ngola Mbande, Mbingue Mbande, Matamba and others belonging to the Ngola lineage.

The kingdom comprises the provinces of Malanje, Cuanza Norte, Luanda and Bengo.
