Africa-Press – Angola. The alienation of habits, uses and customs alien to the idiosyncrasy of Angolans must deserve deep reflection, suggested, this Wednesday, in Soyo, Zaire province, university professor Sebastião Maluta.

The Portuguese Language professor at the Instituto Superior Politécnico do Soyo, spoke at the launch ceremony of an electronic magazine that portrays social, scientific, cultural and environmental aspects, initiated by a group of local academics.

For the Angolan teacher, the negative influences on Angolan culture have resulted in the disruption of some families.

He cited as an example the accusation of children practicing witchcraft, stressing that this phenomenon has been promoted by religious sects of dubious origin.

He alerted the competent authorities to take measures to reverse the situation described, as well as suggesting the promotion of debates around the topic of acculturation and its consequences.

Regarding the magazine, he said that it will encourage, promote and value scientific research initiatives within the local academic class and open the debate to search for solutions to everyday problems.

He explained that the first edition of this electronic magazine, published every six months, covers themes on culture and acculturation, as well as youth entrepreneurship.
