Minister of State and Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, stated this Friday that the National Conference on Human Capital provides a space for reflection and strategic planning, essential for preparing Angolan men and women for the challenges of the 21st century.
Speaking at the ceremony of the National Conference on Human Capital, he emphasized that he believes in human capital, both within and outside the country, as the greatest and most important step in meeting the challenges of building a nation’s development.
Under the motto “Human Capital and the Development of Angola,” the forum brings together delegates from 12 countries and covers 36 topics on technical training, higher education, scientific research, and teacher training, using the National Human Capital Development Plan as its reference document.For Adão de Almeida, in today’s world, undergoing constant and rapid transformation, with constant and cross-cutting challenges, it is crucial to have prepared men and women for the country to be competitive and aspire to continued prosperity.
“There is no development without prepared people, because development is for the people,” he said.
According to the minister, the meeting aims to be an additional contribution to the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence.
The National Conference on Human Capital takes place from the 29th to the 30th of this month in Luanda and brings together approximately 2,200 participants.
The meeting, taking place in Luanda Bay, is part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence and is the result of an initiative by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, aimed at discussing policies for training and developing national professionals, recognizing human capital as the foundation of development and sovereignty.
