Africa-Press – Angola. The first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, asked yesterday, in the municipality of Tomboco, the involvement of militants, friends and sympathizers in the execution of actions with a view to solving the problems of local populations.
“We must be committed to remaining committed to the MPLA’s cause in favor of improving the lives of the populations and the development of the country”, stressed the also governor of Zaire, adding that the way militants view governance is very important for people. and for the whole of society.
Adriano Mendes Carvalho, launched the appeal after the election in office, during the VII Extraordinary Provincial Conference, where he won 411 votes, corresponding to 95 percent, out of a universe of 461 delegates. On the occasion, he thanked, in the first instance, the trust placed by the leader of the MPLA and President of the Republic, to direct the destinies of the province of Zaire.
The new first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire replaces Pedro Makita Júlia, who currently performs the same functions in the province of Cuanza-Norte. “We can change the result of the last General Elections in the province of Zaire,” he said, adding that he believes in the strength of the MPLA and its militants, friends and sympathizers.
According to Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, the solution to social problems depends on an effective survey of the situations that afflict communities. “The problem is not with the people. More needs to be done, contacting the communities, so that we can resolve their problems by meeting needs such as more drinking water, electricity and employment, especially for young people”, he said.
The deputy coordinator of the MPLA Political Bureau monitoring group in Zaire province, Mankento Sebastião Lopes, saluted the region’s militants and the outgoing first secretary, Pedro Makita Júlia, for the work carried out over the years in the service of the MPLA.
“We wish to welcome comrade Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, who has just been elected first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Zaire province, to this land rich not only in oil, but also in traditions”, he praised. the implementation of MPLA programs the region will see better days.
