Africa-Press – Angola. The taxable base of the import value in the Authorized Economic Operator Program (AEO) from 2019 to 2025 amounted to more than 13 billion US dollars, the Director of Customs Services of the General Tax Administration (AGT), Francisco Sivone, said Tuesday in Luanda.
Speaking at the 2nd Methodological Workshop with Authorized Economic Operators (AEO), Silvone said the amount is the result of the current 81 certified companies in different kinds of operation.
He emphasized that the program envisions initiatives focused on sustainability and attracting more Operators to the Operator Program.
“In 2019, the first seven Authorized Economic Operators were certified, and currently we have 84. There is always a need, at least twice a year, to meet with these operators, address their expectations, and convey to them the growth prospects of the program itself,” he said.
The 2nd Methodological Workshop with Authorized Economic Operators took place under the theme “Strengthening the Strategic Partnership: Good Practices, Innovation and Sustainability of the AEO Program,” promoted by the National Trade Facilitation Committee (CNFC).
It sought to reinforce the understanding of the actors involved regarding the requirements, criteria, procedures, and benefits associated with Authorized Economic Operator status, as well as to create synergies between the intervening institutions for a coordinated, transparent, and effective implementation of the AEO Program in Angola.
Held with the technical support of the World Bank, the event reflects the commitment of the CNFC member bodies to customs modernization and the implementation of public policies that promote a more efficient, transparent, and competitive business environment.
