Africa-Press – Angola. The National Swimming Team debuted on Wednesday (03) with 1 silver and 2 bronze medals, in the African Championships in Zone IV, which began on Wednesday (03) in the Kingdom of Eswatini.

The silver medal was won by Wezza Morais in the 100m backstroke, with a time of 1:13.63, while the bronze medal went to David Padre in the 800m freestyle, with a time of 9:13.21, and the other in the 4x400m freestyle relay, with a time of 4:06.01.

The competition continues on Thursday (04), in an event where Angola seeks to improve on its 7th-place finish from the 2024 Edition in Namibia.

Angola attends a competition of this kind for the 13th time, after Zambia 2013 (10th position), Uganda 2014 (4th), Angola 2015 (2nd), Mauritius 2016 (5th), and Zimbabwe 2017 (12th).

In Malawi 2018, the country ranked 11th, Namibia 2019 (7th), Botswana 2020 (8th), in 2021 it was not held due to Covid-19, Zambia 2022 (8th), Angola 2023 (2nd) and Namibia 2024 (7th).
