Africa-Press – Angola. The first President of Angola, António Agostinho Neto, was this Wednesday decorated in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with the Medal of Honor of the Founders of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
The tribute, witnessed by the widow Maria Eugénia Neto, took place during the 42nd Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government.
At the same ceremony, the late Presidents Samora Machel (Mozambique), Kenneth Kaunda (Zambia), Robert Mugabe (Zimbabwe), Julius Nyerere (Tanzania), Sir Seretse Khama (Botswana), Kings Sobhuza II and Moshoeshoe II, (Kingdom of Eswatini and the Kingdom of Lesotho), respectively, all represented by their families.
