Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 10 exhibitors, including individual farmers and those organized in peasant cooperatives, participate Saturday, in Saurimo (Lunda Sul), in an agricultural fair, one of the activities that marked the central event of the 48th anniversary of National Independence.

The fair, taking place over two days, aims to showcase the province’s agricultural potential and galvanize young people to invest in agriculture, carried out by the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development.

The first day of the event, which includes the participation of exhibitors from the four municipalities of Lunda Sul, was marked by the exhibition of products such as cassava, beans, corn, lemon, bread and table bananas, onions, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, eggplant, cabbage, lettuce, among others.

According to the director of the Provincial Office for Integrated Economic Development, Kelson Malomalo, holding the fair constitutes an opportunity to establish a network for the marketing, promotion and valorization of products from the countryside.

He appealed to stallholders to take advantage of the moment to exchange experience, in order to improve planting and diversification of production, as well as to dispose of all production, taking into account some difficulties faced in farming.

The central event of the 48th anniversary of National Independence took place in Saurimo, Lunda Sul province, under the guidance of the Minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida.
