Africa-Press – Angola. Gluing the tablets in the Olympic tank of the Alvalade pool and fixing the drainage are among the latest arrangements, aimed at the Absolute African Swimming Championship, to be held from April 30th to May 5th, in Luanda.

With the deadline for delivery of the work scheduled for the 24th of the current month, the largest swimming complex in the country is currently receiving the complement of gluing the tablets to the upper internal part of the tank.

In the pool deck area (floor around the pool), the flooring and renewed water gutters have been completed.

The diving tank, whose rehabilitation has already been completed, its platform was completely painted blue, including the benches and VIP area, which received new paint and varnish on the wooden deck.

Outside the complex, the infrastructure saw its promenade revamped, in addition to painting the front wall of the property, which hosts the biggest event of the sport in Africa for the first time, after 45 years.

The event, which is expected to feature more than 25 countries, will involve 400 people, including 300 of the continent’s highest level swimmers, to qualify for this year’s Olympic Games, in Paris, France.

Angola will participate in the event with Salvador Gordo, Henrique Mascarenhas, Djamel Pires, Janel Tati, José Cochofel, Enzo Anjos, David Padre Luyane Costa and Yano Elias, in men.

In women’s, she will compete with Lia Lima, Nhara Fernandes, Maria Freitas, Carlota Silva, Rafaela Santo, Nyriam Morais, Rhanya Santo and Catarina Sousa, in pure swimming.

For open waters, it will evolve with Yano Elias, Luyane Costa, David Padre, Sebastião Vika (men), Rafaela Santo and Rhanya Santo (women).
