The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, with the president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Claudio Fabián Tapia, where the final logistical and protocol details will be worked out. Alves Simões will be accompanied by senior officials from the Angolan Embassy in Buenos Aires. The sports director does not hide his enthusiasm and, in a note of ambition, assured that every effort is being made to ensure that Lionel Messi, the current biggest star in world football, joins the list of Argentine players who will set foot on Angolan soil. The official announcement of this unprecedented clash was made on 21 November 2024, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, during the opening of the 9th Congress of the JMPLA, the youth wing of the MPLA.

“We place all our trust in the young players and the technical team of the Palancas Negras.
