Africa-Press – Angola. China’s ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, highlighted the advantages that the Caio Deep Water Terminal, in Cabinda, will provide in commercial relations between the country and other African regions and beyond.

According to the diplomat, who was speaking on the occasion of his recent visit to the terminal works, this project will not only allow the socio-economic development of the province, but also boost trade exchanges with other regions of the continent and the world.

He expressed interest in seeing the infrastructure completed as quickly as possible, carried out by a Chinese construction company, valued at USD 831,994,725.75.

With two kilometers of access, the structure, under construction for more than two years, includes, among other spaces, a terminal measuring 400 meters wide and with a draft of 15.5 meters deep to accommodate two large ships simultaneously.

Located in Caio Litoral, its construction has three phases, the first of which, scheduled for completion in April this year, consists of the implementation of port infrastructures and a cargo services area of ​​100 hectares.

During three days in the province, the ambassador also visited the maritime passenger terminal and the Sassa-Zau water treatment and distribution station, 25 kilometers north of the city of Cabinda.
