Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Miguel da Costa, met this Sunday, in the city of Lubumbashi, with the Angolan community residing in the province of Upper Katanga, as part of a working visit.

At the meeting, Miguel da Costa listened at length to the concerns of Angolan citizens residing in that territory, having highlighted that the Embassy is open to work and support all national citizens who chose the DRC to study, invest or practice their profession.

On the occasion, Miguel da Costa recalled that Angola and the DRC are two countries that share approximately 2 thousand 511 kilometers of land border, with a friendship forged in historical, cultural, economic and good neighborly relations.

In turn, members of the community did not hide their satisfaction and stated that it was “an unprecedented meeting, in 45 years, in Lubumbashi, with a head of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in the DRC”.

The Consulate General of Angola in Upper Katanga has been carrying out, since 2020, several activities with the Angolan community residing in the southeast region of the DRC, with emphasis on the provinces of Luabala, Tanganika and

Lomami, aiming to provide services to those who need them.

Miguel da Costa develops an intense work program in Lubumbashi, which includes meetings with local authorities and businesspeople, with the aim of, among other topics, assessing the level of cooperation and friendship relations and the need to create conditions for strengthening and improving commercial transactions between Angola and the DRC.

The Head of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in the DRC will participate, from the 12th to the 14th of June, in Lubumbashi, in the “RDC Mining Week”, considered the main mining event in the DRC, which will be held in the format of a conference and exhibition, aimed at mining professionals. businesses looking for good performance in the sector.
