Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the US Senate, Patty Murray, spoke Thursday, in Luanda, enthusiastic about the good results achieved by the US investment in Public Health in Angola.
Patty Murray, who expressed such satisfaction after an audience granted by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, highlighted that the United States of America (USA) has Angola as a great partner, although there is a lot of work to be done.
“We are very excited to be here and see the results achieved through our investments in the Public Health sector. Over the last 25 years, we have invested around 700 million dollars and it is satisfying to see the results, in terms of improving the Public Health sector in Angola”.
According to the President of the Senate, the North American delegation conveyed to the Angolan Head of State that the USA has Angola as a great partner, although there are many challenges and work to be done, but with investment, public support and synergy the two States will ultimately benefit.
For the senator, the USA must continue to support the development of the Lobito Corridor, due to its key role in the development of Angola, as it should benefit from small farmers to large investors.
To this end, according to Senator Chistopher Coons, the USA should facilitate the capture of investments by American companies for the Lobito Corridor and, through them, invest in public health and agriculture, to make cooperation between the two fruitful. States.
The agenda includes a visit by US senators to the Luanda Technical Health Institute, in order to highlight US assistance programs in Angola such as the Community Development and Health Agents (ADECOS), management of the supply chain supply of medicines, training of health specialists and family planning.
The US has been a partner in improving health services for Angolans, with the acquisition of essential medicines and vaccines and strengthening laboratories.
