Africa-Press – Angola. The National Police in Huíla presented Monday, four young people suspected of robbing inhabitants of some peripheral neighborhoods of Lubango, with robberies and armed robberies, all of whom had benefited from last December’s amnesty .

Young people between 20 and 28 years of age, who are part of a group of seven, three of whom are still at large, who spread terror in the neighborhoods, Bula Matadi, Nambambi, Lalula, Comandante Cowboy and 14 de Abril, the latter where it was possible to detain them in the act.

All had been covered by the Amnesty Law, approved on December 15, 2022, by the National Assembly, pardoning all common crimes with prison sentences of up to eight years, committed by national or foreign citizens in the period between November 12, 2015 and 11 of November 2022.

In their possession, who before the amnesty shared the same cell, were found two pistol-type firearms, three plasma televisions, an equal number of knives, mobile phones, 42 thousand kwanzas, two screwdrivers, a wire cutting pliers barbed cloth, a mirror, butane gas cylinder and masks that they used to avoid being identified by the victims.

The spokesman for the corporation, inspector Benedito Walter, highlighted that four of the individuals already have a criminal record, as three were held in custody and one was convicted of the same crimes.

Of the seven individuals, he explained, six are robbers and one was the recipient of the stolen goods and his mission was to place them on the black market.

He detailed that their detention took place over the weekend, when they were trying to carry out another battery of their actions.

In all, in the province, in the period in question, 44 people benefited from the law, 40 of which were members of the National Police and the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
