Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed this Wednesday, on behalf of all deputies, satisfaction with the fact that the “Palancas Negras” football team represented the flag and national pride with perseverance, brio and courage in CAN 2023, which takes place in Côte d’Ivoire.
The leader of the Angolan Parliament was speaking at the end of the 3rd Extraordinary Plenary Meeting, which approved, in general, the Proposed Law on Anti-Doping in Sport.
He expressed words of appreciation, on behalf of all deputies, to the players, coaches and support staff and to everyone who created conditions and eliminated difficulties for a successful participation in CAN 2023, thus raising Angola’s prestige.
“Our congratulations on having marked yet another new illustrious page in Angolan and, perhaps, African football, for the classification achieved”, he emphasized.
The president of the National Assembly promised much success for Angolan football in the future.
He also congratulated deputy Elizandra Wassuka, for winning two bronze medals at the last world wrestling championship, held recently in France.
“Our congratulations for having represented our country with great dignity”, expressed the president of the National Assembly.
In CAN 2023, which ends on the 11th in Côte d`Ivoire, Angola was among the eight best African teams, thanks to the quarter-finals reached.
This feat, however, was already achieved in the 2008 (Ghana) and 2010 (Angola) editions.
