Africa-Press – Angola. The National Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Angola (ANCAA) carried out, this Monday, in the city of Uíge, a training action on the rights of people with disabilities, as well as finding solutions for the difficulties faced by the visually impaired in the country .
The one-day training, which was attended by 50 members of the ANCAA, addressed the introduction of the African charter for persons with disabilities, general fundamental principles and State obligations, the rights of women, girls, children, young people and the elderly.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training, the national president of ANCA, Manuel Quental, explained that the activity aims to inform members about the rights of people with disabilities, inscribed in the protocol of the African charter.
He added that the Government ratified, in April 2022, the protocol of the African Charter on the rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Present at the act, the director of the Provincial Office for Social Action, Family and Gender Equality of Uíge, Arminda Felipe, considered the initiative positive, justifying it as an important step for ANCAA members to know their rights.
