Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia, Francisco da Cruz, and his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, Ibrahima Sanó, defended, Tuesday (22), the coordination of actions by Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) to see their positions better reflected in the decisions of the various forums of the continental organization.

The position of the two States, expressed during a meeting that took place at the premises of the Angolan representation in Ethiopia, underlines the commitment of the parties to outline ideas for greater insertion of PALOP cadres, as a Portuguese-speaking bloc, in the prominent positions of the African Union structures.

According to a note from the Embassy in Ethiopia, the initiative is intended to achieve the common objectives of the continental organization, which include increasing the production and dissemination of documents in Portuguese, one of the official languages ​​of the African Union. The diplomats dealt with issues of common interest, within the scope of strengthening bilateral cooperation, and also reviewed the activities of the CPLP group in Ethiopia, where they envisaged the commemorations of the “5th of May”, International Portuguese Language Day, in this country in the Horn of Africa region.
