Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Manuel Bravo, recently presented, in Lima city, Letters of Credence to the President of Peru, Dina Boluarte, that accredited him as the Southern African nation non-resident ambassador to Peru.
In the conversation following the ceremony, the Angolan diplomat conveyed a verbal message from President João Lourenço to Dina Boluarte.
The message reiterated the desire and political will to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation in areas such as agriculture and fisheries, culture and higher education, tourism, mineral resources and political-diplomacy.
During his stay in Peru, Ambassador Bravo met with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Javier González-Olaechea and Peter Cannock respectively.
The ambassador also met with the Director General for Africa and the Middle East, Jorge Carbajal, having all agreed that it would be in the interest of the two states to hold regular political-diplomatic consultations.
Peru, a neighboring country to Brazil and Colombia, established diplomatic relations with Angola on September 6, 1985. It is South America’s 6th largest economy, the world’s 2nd largest copper producer and has the world’s 3rd largest reserves of metallic minerals.
