Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Algeria signed, late on Wednesday afternoon, in Luanda, a legal instrument that marks a new impetus in political-diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries. This is the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Angola and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria on Political Consultations, explains the MIREX in a press release.

The document was signed in the “Paulo Teixeira Jorge” Grand Hall at the headquarters of Angolan diplomacy by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and the Secretary of State for African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, Selma Mansouri.

“The aforementioned Memorandum of Understanding aims to hold consultations on bilateral, regional and multilateral issues, which constitute an opportunity to identify possibilities for consolidating cooperation in areas of common interest,” the note adds.
