Africa-Press – Angola. The national junior women’s handball team faces Iceland in the first round of group H, of the 24th World Championship in the category, taking place between the 19th and 30th of this month, in Skopje (Macedonia).
In its eighth participation, Angola aims to be equal to or better than the sixth position obtained in the edition held in Slovenia, in 2022.
The national team, coached by José Chuma, held a seven-day training camp in Hungary, where they played two games. Victory against the senior teams of Budaors (28-23) and then against Nemesvamos (32-30).
In Macedonia, the Angolans played a preparatory tournament with Romania, losing 26-28 and winning over Chile, 26-19.
In the third place qualifiers, Angola was defeated by China (32-30), in a challenge using penalties, after a 28-goal draw in regulation time.
In series H, the national team will also face the USA, Scotland and the host Macedonia.

B – Switzerland, Egypt, Tunisia and Chile
C – Hungary, Republic of Korea, Argentina and Mexico
D – Denmark, Norway, Japan and China Taipei
E – Sweden, Algeria, China and Czech Republic

G – Portugal, Montenegro, Guinea and Uzbekistan
H – Angola , Macedonia, Scotland and USA
