Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Italy will share experiences in the areas of dance and poetry from April 9th to 24th in Luanda, in order to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

This is a series of activities called Angola-Italy that aims to develop exchange actions between the two States to allow an “artistic dialogue”.

The information was released this Wednesday, in Luanda, by the general director of the “Atelier de D ́Artes do Lucengomono”, Francisco Makiesse, during the “Maka à Quarta-feira” debate event, held by the Angolan Writers’ Union (UEA), with the theme “The Body in Motion: The Language of Nature”.

On the occasion, the official informed that before the 24th, several activities will be promoted with the Italian dancer and poet Ginevra Spinozzi, including roundtables, seminars and online classes. On the 24th, she continued, a contemporary dance performance will take place with Angolan and Italian artists.

In turn, the Italian artist, Ginevra Spinozzi, said she was very happy to be in Angola to be able to share her culture with Angolan artists and vice versa.

On the theme of “Maka à Quarta-Feira” (Wednesday’s Debate), she highlighted that dance is very important to express what people often cannot communicate orally.

For her, the poem serves to awaken the consciousness of people who have lost hope for better days.

The meeting was promoted by the “Atelier D’Artes Lucengomono” and the “Companhia Nacional de Ópera de Angola” (CNOPERA) in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Angola, with the support of UEA and the “Círculo de Estudos Linguísticos e Literários Litteragris” (Litteragris Circle of Linguistic and Literary Studies).

The Italian artist’s visit to the country is also part of an artistic exchange program aimed at creating a cultural bridge between Angola and Italy, promoting the exchange of experiences and creativity among artists from both countries.

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Italy were established shortly after national independence on November 11, 1975, and are considered solid and strategic.
