Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Ethiopia and permanent representative to the African Union (AU), Francisco da Cruz, analyzed, Friday (11), with his Japanese counterpart, Horiuchi Toshihiko, the status of bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the diplomats also discussed the results of the last Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU, including the decision to hold the Extraordinary Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Regime Changes in Africa, an event proposed by Angola. and which should take place at the end of May this year in the capital of Equatorial Guinea, in Malabo.

In a statement, the Angolan Embassy in Ethiopia said that the two entities also addressed issues related to the next Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), to be held in August of this year, in Tunisia.

Before meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Francisco da Cruz received the chargé d’affaires of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Addis Ababa and with the AU, Ruslan Nasibov.

During the meeting, the two diplomats reflected on the role of the African Union in promoting stability, security and economic and social development of the continent.

In another initiative, Francisco da Cruz visited the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ethiopia on Thursday, having exchanged views with his Belgian counterpart, François Dumont, about the AU-EU Summit, to be held on the 17th and 18th of this month. month in Brussels.
