Africa-Press – Angola. The search for mechanisms to increase bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, economic and technological fields was at the heart of the discussions that took place this Thursday, in Luanda, between Angolan and Russian authorities.

These discussions took place during an audience granted by the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, to the ambassador of the Russian Federation in the country, Vladimir Tararov.

The meeting served for the two entities to talk about the dynamization of political consultations between Angola and Russia, as well as the need for the creation of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation between the two countries.

The moment was also used for ambassador Vladimir Tararov to discuss with the head of Angolan diplomacy aspects related to the Russia-Africa Summit, scheduled for July, in Saint Petersburg, and the preparation of the BRICS Summit (economic bloc composed of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), which should take place at the end of August, in the South African city of Durban.

On the occasion, the Russian diplomat in Angola also spoke about the trip he made to the provinces of Huíla and Benguela, as well as made known about the first appointment of a Councilor for Agriculture of the Russian Federation in Angola.

Angola and the Russian Confederation have shown interest in strengthening cooperation, with emphasis on the diversification of the strategic partnership in the political-diplomatic, defense and security, technological and economic-business domains.
