Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan minister of the Environment, Ana Paula de Carvalho, and the Swedish ambassador to Angola, Lennart Killander, expressed on Monday (2), in Luanda, the interest of the two countries in strengthening their partnership in the environmental sector.
According to a note received on Tuesday, the intention was expressed during an audience that the Angolan minister granted to the Swedish ambassador, which served to assess bilateral cooperation, mainly in the areas of environmental protection and sustainable development.
During the meeting, the two parties also addressed the partnership in projects for forest preservation, solid waste management, renewable energy and tackling climate change.
Both highlighted the importance of strengthening collaborations to meet current environmental challenges and promoting joint actions that can benefit local communities and the ecosystem.
On the occasion, minister Ana Paula de Carvalho highlighted the long-standing partnership between the two countries in the areas of sustainability and green innovation, expressing an interest in expanding it to other areas.
In turn, the European diplomat expressed Sweden’s commitment to supporting Angolan initiatives by providing resources and know-how for projects with a positive environmental impact.
