Angola and Turkey decide to move forward with signed agreements

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Turkey must fine-tune the mechanisms to carry out the legal instruments of cooperation recently signed, at the highest level, in the sectors of Agriculture, Fisheries, Customs Assistance, Education, Industry and Tourism.

This decision was analyzed Thursday, in Luanda, at the meeting between the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, and the Turkish ambassador to Angola, Alp Ay.

The two States also observed the level of bilateral cooperation, as well as reviewed issues of common interest in the scope of multilateralism, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting also served to discuss the increase in bilateral cooperation, especially in areas already identified between the parties, which, in the opinion of the Turkish ambassador, deserves greater dynamism.

In the field of multilateralism, the parties indicated their positions in the face of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Diplomatic and cooperation relations between Angola and Turkey are considered good and both governments have made efforts to increase bilateral cooperation in the most varied areas.

In addition to other instruments, the two States have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the aeronautical authorities, as well as a Verbal Process of the I Session of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation.

Angola and Turkey have also signed agreements between the two governments in the field of Education, Commercial, Economic and Technical Cooperation.

The two countries established diplomatic relations on July 9, 1980.
