Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan and Zambian authorities are working to identify commercial opportunities in order to allow the creation of a cross-border tourism market with integrated tourist packages.
The partnership takes place during a working session called Business-to-Business (B2B), where the Angolan delegation, made up of 18 tour operators, meets with Zambian partners, in the context of the Zambia Travel Expo (ZATEX-2025), which takes place Jun 5 to 7, in Lusaka and is expected to allow both markets’ boost.
According to a press release that ANGOP had access to, on Wednesday (4), the initiative results from a joint approach by the tourism ministers of Angola and Zambia, Márcio Daniel and Rodney Sikumba, respectively, carried out during Africa’s Travel Indaba, which took place in May 2024, in the city of Durban, South Africa.
According to the document, under the motto “Driving Inclusive Growth”, the event is an opportunity to strengthen tour ties between the sector’s operators from the two neighbouring countries.
The aim is to highlight the sun and sea tourism products that Angola can offer to the Zambian market, allowing the creation of tourism packages that complement its tourism products, focused on ecotourism, adventure tourism and wildlife, the note reads.
The event also aims to build new partnerships, explore good practices and promote the growth of the tourism industry in the participating countries. It will allow Angolan tour operators to expand their activities and acquire more experience in managing tourist destinations.
The event will be attended by operators AcrossTours Angola, Cosmos, Ten Tours, VeeTours, Ukunhula Tours, Grupo Cosal, Okuya Adventures, Grupo Madeirense, Fly Hotel, Gitu Kiame, HCGA Viagens, Serra da Chela, NS Viagens, Nawabus, Carpe Diem, Ven Voyage Turismo & Viagens, Kwenda Viagens and AVOTA.
