Angola at the Continental Conference on the Impact of Covid-19 and HIV

Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation led by the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, participates from 15 to 17 at the Continental Conference on the Impact of Covid-19 on HIV Responses in Africa, taking place in Saly, Senegal.

The event is organized by the African Union (AU) Committee for the Protection of the Rights of Persons Living with HIV (PLHIV) and People at Risk, Vulnerable and Affected by the Disease.

The Angolan delegation is made up of the commissioner and special rapporteur for Prisons, Conditions of Detention and Policing in Africa, Maria Manuela, the deputy director of the National Institute for the Fight against HIV-AIDS, José Van-dúnem and the director of the Secretary’s Office of State for Public Health, João Mansitambi.

The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, said that he will address the epidemiological situation of Covid-19 and HIV-AIDS, progress and challenges in Angola at the event.
