The Republic of Angola learned with great concern about the coup d’état that took place in Burkina Faso, on the 30th of September 2022.
As Champion of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation in Africa, we strongly condemn this act and urge the Burkinabe coup plotters to facilitate the work of the current Transition authorities, aimed at complying with the transition schedule, which provides for a return to constitutional order. until July 1, 2024.
Appealing to the common sense of the coup actors for the well-being of Burkina Faso, the Sahel region and Africa in general, we reiterate the solidarity of the Angolan people with the brother people of Burkina Faso in this period of profound political instability.
