Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-six civil aviation technicians from Portuguese-speaking African Countries (PALOP) concluded yesterday, in Luanda, the first course on “Master Planning of Civil Aviation”, within the framework of the obligations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO ).

For five days (from the 3rd to the 7th of the current month), specialists from Angola, Cape Verde, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Equatorial Guinea strengthened their skills on Civil Aviation Master Planning (CAMP).

According to a press release, this Friday, the participants of this course were elevated to the category of international instructor, due to the “Operational Training on Job” (OJT) component.

At the closing ceremony, the Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’Abreu, highlighted the involvement of the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) in facilitating the course On Civil Aviation Director Planning (CAMP).

“The role of ANAC in holding this course represents a clear indication of the commitment of the Angolan State to regional and international cooperation, as well as to the improvement of the African civil aviation system within the vision of (ICAO), according to which “No Country is Left back”.

On the occasion, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Gong Tao, the country that funded the training, endorsed by ICAO, said that the initiative will respond to the “critical needs” of the respective States in relation to the development and management of master plans.

According to the Chinese diplomat, his country will continue to support ICAO initiatives, and that, in this framework, by 2023 China will increase from three to four billion dollars the funding plafound to support developing countries in the implementation of the Agenda 2030.

Regarding the course, Gong Tao said that it was a joint project between ICAO and the Government of China, created with the aim of providing training opportunities based on quality and competence to 500 participants, nominated by 60 Member States.

26 professionals participated in the course, including middle and senior civil aviation technicians and operators from the sector in Cape Verde, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Equatorial Guinea and Angola.
