The chairman of the MBM Holding Investment Group, Sheik Mohammed Al Maktoum, of the Dubai Royal Family, said this Saturday, in Caxito, that he is in Angola with the objective of importing varieties of agricultural products produced in Bengo to the Middle East, such as banana.

The Dubai Sheik, who was speaking during a visit to the Nova Agrolíder farm, one of the largest banana producers in the country, stressed that Angola has fertile land and a favorable climate to produce agricultural varieties.

“The Nova Agrolíder farm has models to provide good business and we want to partner with them. It is obvious that, in relation to Angola, we do not have much experience, but we would like to expand and increase our knowledge, in addition to establishing a partnership that results in good business”, he explained.

According to Sheik Mohammed Al Maktoum, Dubai also has a favorable climate for agricultural practice, but, he pointed out, the production carried out at the Nova Agrolíder farm is impressive.

There, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Angola to the United Arab Emirates, Albino Malungo, highlighted that the province of Bengo, through the Nova Agrolíder farm, has become a major agricultural reference in the country, due to the production of bananas in considerable quantities and internationally recognized quality.

Albino Malungo said that the ambassador’s mission is to bring investors to the country to invest and provide the desired development. “Next month, the United Arab Emirates will invest in the implementation of a ‘mall’ with several areas of commercial services and, in this way, it will be good for the country, especially in relation to the offer of services”, he announced.

The diplomat added that, given the location of Bengo province and the commitment of the local government, conditions are in place for the reception of new investors in the agricultural sector, to guarantee the development of the region.

Banana by the tons

The president of the Nova Agrolíder Group, José Macedo, said that, weekly, the farm exports 400 to 500 tons of bananas, in addition to other products, to Portugal, Spain, Russia, Italy, France, South Africa and Namibia.

“Therefore, doors are opening for us. At the moment, we are creating conditions to try to export coffee. I think the future will be bright”, said José Macedo, for whom business expectations are very high.

“It is expected that the partnership between Agrolíder (Angola) and MBM Holding Investment (United Arab Emirates) will result in good business”, he declared.

It should be remembered that the province of Bengo stands out in the production of bananas, cassava, papaya, beans, palm oil, vegetables, citrus, guava, coffee and other crops.

On Tuesday, after being received in audience by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Sheik Mohammed bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, expressed, in statements to the press, the interest of the MBM Holding Investment group in investing in the Angolan agriculture sectors. and Health.

“We hope to have some opportunities that the country offers in the areas of Agriculture and Health, in such a way that we can move forward for the development of the country”, he stressed.

Mohammed Al Maktoum added that the quantitative notions of the investments to be established also depended on the preliminary work that the company is carrying out in the country, guaranteeing that a planning effort is underway that will carry out projects that may include the Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone, where you were on Thursday.
