Angola Oil & Gas - 6Th International Conference Kicks off

Africa-Press – Angola. The 6th Angola Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (AOG) kicked off Wednesday at the Talatona Conference Center, in Luanda, with the presence of President João Lourenço.

The event, happening under the theme “Angola at 50: Oil and Gas as an Engine of Development,” brings together executives from the oil industry, across its multiple segments, from exploration/production to distribution, representing national, regional, and global companies, including oil ministers from several countries.

The Angolan Head of State delivered the opening speech for the major two-day event, which will address strategies for attracting investment in the country’s oil and gas projects.

The welcoming address was given by NJ Ayuk, CEO of the South African Energy Chamber.

ENI’s CEOs, Cláudio Descareli, BP’s Murray Auchincloss, and the Senior Deputy-Chair of Total Energies for Africa, Mike Sangster, are also attending the ceremony which brings together more than 2,500 delegates, 100 speakers, and 500 organizations from over 40 countries.

Considered the largest oil and gas event within the scope of the celebrations of Angola’s 50th anniversary to be celebrated on Nov 11th of the current year, it also reinforces the strategic importance of the energy sector in the national and international economy.

The conference highlights Angola’s commitment to remaining one of Africa’s largest oil producers, with planned investments of more than US$60 million over the next five years.
