Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to Turkey, João dos Santos Neto, expressed on Thursday (14) in Istanbul, the country’s openness to establishing and deepening mutually beneficial relations with Turkish companies in the energy distribution sector.
The desire was expressed during a meeting with the management of the Cengiz Group, a company involved in construction, energy, mining, and tourism, according to a note from the Angolan Embassy in that country, sent on Friday (15).
The document classifies Turkey as an “excellent” ally in the energy sector, given its financial and technological availability.
The ambassador took the opportunity to present Angola’s progress in the energy sector, which has enabled it to supply this commodity to neighboring countries such as Namibia.
On the Turkish group’s side, the director Akin Bubik stated that Cengiz has already identified the energy sector in Angola as one of the sectors of interest for investment.
Founded in 1980, Cengiz Holding is the only Turkish company with plants capable of producing copper and aluminum, from the mine to the final product.
Angola and Turkey have been cooperating in the areas of air transport, defense, trade, mining, and renewable energy.
Turkey exports wheat, industrial machinery, household appliances, hospital and healthcare supplies, among others, to Angola.
Nearly 300 Turkish citizens carry out commercial activities in Angola, in the provinces of Luanda, Benguela, and Huíla.
