Africa-Press – Angola. The Brazilian ambassador, Rafael Vidal, announced, on Monday, the official visit of the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Lula da Silva, to Angola.
The information was advanced during an audience granted to him by the head of Angolan diplomacy, Teté António.
The Brazilian diplomat stated, on the occasion, that the focus of the presidential visit will be centered on new projects and investments.
During the meeting, the Angolan minister expressed Angola’s intention to negotiate a new line of credit with the Brazilian government and replicate part of the agreements signed during the first consulate of President Lula da Silva, between 2003 and 2011.
The meeting also served for the two entities to talk about the need to increase bilateral cooperation and exchange visits between the delegations of the two countries, especially at the highest level.
It should be recalled that President Lula da Silva said at the beginning of January this year that Angola would be the first country in Africa to be visited, due to the nature of the bilateral relationship, due to the role of Angola, which is the gateway to Brazilian politics for Africa and the historical and economic weight of that relationship.
Available data show that, in 2022, bilateral trade was budgeted at US$700 million.
