Africa-Press – Angola. Angola, through the National Service for the Recovery of Assets, recovered at least US$12 billion in properties and money in the country and abroad, in the last four years, as part of the fight against corruption and impunity.

This information was provided, this Tuesday (26), by the national director of that service assigned to the Attorney General’s Office, Eduarda Rodrigues, in statements to the press on the sidelines of the “Workshop on asset recovery” which brings together the attorneys general of the countries of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

According to the deputy attorney general, this amount is still held in banks in the country and abroad, and the proceedings are ongoing in the courts.

Asked about the seized properties, the magistrate explained that some were handed over to trustees for management, while those that were empty are being used by various state institutions.
