Angola registers one death and 23 new infections

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola recorded, in the last 24 hours, one death, 23 new infections and the recovery of 34 people, according to data from the National Directorate of Public Health (DNSP) newsletter distributed to the press this Tuesday.

The document states that the death occurred in Benguela. The victim was 50 years old. Regarding infections, 10 were registered in Cabinda, seven in Luanda, four in Huambo, one in Benguela and the same number in Moxico.

The infected are aged between 1 and 59 years, 16 of which are male and seven are female. With regard to those recovered, 14 were registered in Luanda, 13 in Lunda-Norte, five in Benguela, one in Lunda-Sul and Moxico.

With these data, the country has 98,555 positive cases, of which 1,899 have died, 96,427 have recovered and 229 are active. Of this number, four are moderate, two have mild symptoms and 223 are asymptomatic.

In Covid-19 treatment centers across the country, six patients are hospitalized. 11 citizens are in institutional quarantine and 223 are in home isolation.

The Molecular Biology Laboratory processed, in the last 24 hours, 1,485 samples, of which 23 were positive. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 1,406,838 samples have been processed, of which 98,555 have tested positive.
