Africa-Press – Angola. Angola rose 20 places, compared to 2021, in the Corruption Perception Index, prepared by Transparency International, which includes 180 countries and territories.

According to the report, Angola maintained the growing trend of recent years in the fight against corruption, settling in 116th position.

The publication referring to 2022, released Tuesday, by the organization based in Germany, informs that the trend in the last five years has resulted in an increase of 14 points.

As for other Portuguese-speaking African countries, he adds that Guinea-Bissau scored only 26 points on a scale ranging from zero to 100.

Mozambique rose five degrees compared to last year (142). Cape Verde, on the other hand, is the best placed Portuguese-speaking African (35).

Sao Tome and Principe climbed three places (65).

The Corruption Perception Index has been released every year since 1995 by the non-governmental organization Transparency International and has been a reference in the analysis of the phenomenon of corruption, based on the perception of experts and business executives on the levels of corruption in the public sector.
